from Sherry Locke Kinney (2017):

I first met Cheryl in 1962 when we moved onto W. California Ave in North Como area. She was my first "new" friend that I had made as we lived on the same block. She showed me the ropes at Como Jr High as we started 8th grade. Remember how we borrowed each other's clothes back in those days? We did that often and remained friends throughout our Murray years. During our senior year we were both hired at the midway Montgomery Ward store – our first jobs. Cheryl worked at the snack bar downstairs on the dock and I worked on 2nd floor in customer service doing returns and gift-wrapping. I remember one woman wanted to return a filthy, stretched out girdle! Ugh! Unfortunately, our friendship faltered after graduation as we followed different paths, I attending U of MN and Cheryl another direction. Once I married, we saw each other only on happenstance when visiting our parents. My Mom was the one that told me Cheryl had passed of heart problems. Cheryl's life was too short. Bless her soul.
